BE THE BETTER MAN

Our team represents the rapidly growing illness of diabetes - a metabolic disease in which the body’s inability to produce any or enough insulin causes elevated levels of glucose in the blood. Glucose, more commonly known as blood sugar is vital to your health because it's an important source of energy for the cells that make up your muscles and tissues.  Anything that vital to the basic functions of your body, if compromised can be serious and often fatal, like Diabetes. 

However, it is both preventable and manageable if the person is dedicated and committed to a healthy lifestyle. Something sweet is allowed every once in a while - hence our name, Sticky Fingers! Due to poor lifestyle choices, an upwards of nearly 7 million people in the US are currently unaware that they too have the disease. Nearly 80 million have what is known as "PreDiabetes".  This swiftly growing epidemic is the reason we're here to educate people about Diabetes by first setting the example of having fun while still being healthy.

We are men and women who push our bodies to the limit in our personal efforts to live longer lives and we believe if everyone did that, we would have better health outcomes in our communities.  In total, four teams will be playing on behalf of each disease and collecting donations to support organizations that are doing remarkable work in those areas.  The money we raise will be awarded to the American Diabetes Association to help their mission to lead the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fight for those affected by the disease.
